Adding a Blog Post in WordPress

In this article, we will discuss the process of creating a blog post. These blog posts will display on your Blog page on your website.

Creating a Blog Post

1. Log into WordPress for your website using the link sent with your login credentials

2. Once Logged in you should see this Dashboard screen

   

   
   

3. Go to "Posts" > "Add New" on the right-hand menu as shown boxed in green

   

   This will take you to this new post page where you can craft your blog post, add text and images, as well as put your post into a specific category.

Saving Your Blog Post

Once your blog post or article has been crafted, you have a few options:

1. Save Draft  - this will save your post but not publish it live on your website. You can come back later and edit it accordingly.
2. Preview - this allows you to view your post on your website without actually posting it. You can make multiple edits and click preview to see your changes.
3. Publish - this will post your blog post or article live on your website. Be sure that you are ready to publish before clicking this button.

Managing Your Blog Posts

Once you have published your Blog post, you can view/edit it on the Posts page in WordPress by clicking "Posts" > "All Posts" as shown boxed in green.​​
