User Roles

What is a User Role?

A Role defines a set of tasks a user assigned the role is allowed to perform. For instance, the Author role allows the execution of just a small subset of tasks. While an Editor has access to much more.

Roles:

  • Administrator - somebody who has access to all the administration features within a single site. Only REALSTACK has this access.
  • Editor - somebody who can publish and manage posts and pages including the posts of other users.
  • Author - somebody who can publish and manage their own posts.
  • Contributor - somebody who can write and manage their own posts but cannot publish them.
  • Subscriber - somebody who can only manage their profile.

REALSTACK does not provide admin access under any circumstances. Our development team has worked tirelessly to maintain the integrity of client websites by only using pre-approved plugins, CDN, and performance enhancements. It's common for plugins to have conflicts or unforeseen issues and maintaining the website and approved plugins avoids fire drills or similar time-sensitive issues. This is why we provide managed services to all of our clients to assist with the technical needs of a website.

Editor access is the highest role a created user will be able to access. With editor access, you should have the ability to create, edit, publish, and delete any post or page, as well as moderate comments, upload to the media library, and manage categories, tags, and links.

If you need to install any plugins or similar, you can certainly send support@realstack.com which plugin it is, and we can have our development team review it for a possible install.
