Image Submission Standards
To get your website looking its best, we need high-quality images from the start. Using the right sizes and formats helps us work faster and ensures your site looks sharp on every screen.
Here's exactly what to send us.
Hero Images
Hero images are the large, full-width photos used on your homepage, section headers, and banners. These need to be crisp on desktop, tablet, and mobile, so size matters here.
Minimum requirements:
- Dimensions: 2400px wide x 1600px tall (landscape preferred)
- Resolution: 144 DPI
- Format: JPEG (preferred) or PNG if transparency is needed
- File size: Under 5MB (RS will optimize)
Composition tips:
- Leave space around the main subject, as we may need to adjust the crop for different screen sizes
- Avoid centering important subjects too tightly
- Make sure your subject is sharp and well-lit
- Depending on your title, subtitle, and/or other elements, the photo subject may need to be to the right, left, or other. The photo subject can not conflict with the text, etc.
General Body Images
These are the photos used throughout your site, including in-page images, blog posts, and galleries.
Minimum requirements:
- Dimensions: At least 1200px wide (portrait orientation is fine)
- Resolution: 72 DPI or higher
- Format: JPEG or PNG
- File size: Under 2MB
Best practices:
- Avoid blurry, dark, or pixelated photos
- Don't bake text into the image, as we'll add captions or text in the site design instead
- Keep images visually consistent with your brand tone
Agent Headshots
Headshots are used for agent profile photos on your website. An un-cropped, properly sized photo makes a strong first impression.
Minimum requirements:
- Dimensions: 350px wide minimum, we recommend 600-800px wide
- File size: Under 20MB
- Format: JPEG or PNG
Framing tips:
- Leave enough space around the head on all sides. The photo should not be cropped too tightly. There needs to be breathing room above, below, and on both sides of the subject so the image displays cleanly at any size.
- Center the subject's face in the frame
- Use a clean, uncluttered background when possible
- Make sure the photo is well-lit and in focus
Quick Tips
- Send original files, not screenshots. Use the original from your camera, phone, or photographer.
- Skip social media downloads. Images downloaded from Facebook or Instagram are often compressed and too low in quality to use.
- Use the shared Google Drive folder to upload your images.
Not Sure if Your Images Are Good Enough?
No worries. Send them our way, and we'll take a look before your project kicks off. If anything needs to be reshot or swapped out, we'll let you know.
