Adding a Deal
In this article, we are going to explain the process of adding and managing deals within the REALSTACK app. Recording deals make it easy to keep track and organize your closing information, people connected to the sale, and commissions.

Adding a Deal
A Deal is any potential or completed transaction for a listing. You can add a deal to a listing prior to or after closing. Users may prefer to add a deal prior to closing so that they are able to track the amount of value nearing a closing to forecast revenue and or commissions. Other users may only enter deals after closing for record-keeping, historical reports, or tracking revenue and commissions.
The process of adding a deal can vary based on the deal type. This article will focus on the most simple steps to add a deal based on its deal type. Deal types include:
- Seller Rep
- Seller and Buyer Rep
- Buyer Rep
- Referral Only
NOTE: for this article, we are going to focus on adding a deal after the closing. All Deals are required to be associated with a listing.
Add Deal: Seller Rep or Seller and Buyer Rep
- Login to REALSTACK with your user login credentials.
- On the left navigation, click listings > view listings
- Locate or search for the listing in which to add a deal.
- To the right of the intended listing, click the action menu > edit listing
- From the update listing form, set the listing status = Sold.
- Scroll to the bottom of the update listing form and click the button "SAVE & CREATE DEAL."
- You will be directed to the add deal form. Input the closing information into the available fields. Fields marked with a red asterisk (*) are required. For a complete list of fields and definitions, visit our Deals Reference article.
- Once the form is complete, click the SAVE button.
Add Deal: Buyer Rep or Referral Only
When adding a deal with the deal type of buyer rep or referral only the quick add listing feature is available. This is helpful because in most cases, the listing was not previously entered into REALSTACK and the ability to add a listing within the same screen with minimal information saves time.
- Login to the REALSTACK web application.
- In the left navigation menu find and click Deals > Add Deal
- From the Deal Type dropdown list box, select the value "Buyer Rep."
- Next, input the Deal Name into the text box.
- Place your cursor in the Listing text box and a dropdown list will appear. Click "Add New Listing" from the dropdown and a pop-up will appear.
- From the Add New Listing pop-up, input only the minimal required information. Required fields are marked with a red asterisk (*).
- Click the Save button in the Add New Listing pop-up window and you will be returned to the Add Deal form. Continue to complete the Add Deal form with the closing information.
You can follow the same steps when entering a Deal for "Referral Only" deal type.
